What You Ate Wednesday…
Some think that dietitians are the food police, but let me tell you I am FAR from that. Sure, if you come to me seeking nutrition advice I might be a bit “sassy” but if you are not honest with me I cannot help you. That being said I am WAY more curious about what is on your plate than I am about policing what you are putting on it.
Seriously, I must follow 20+ food blogs (and always looking for more suggestions) as well as ALL of my favorite Instagram foodies and could watch EVERY cooking show out there if my hubby put up with it. I would love to be given a basket of random food to come up with a meal, seriously. I find it both fascinating and enlightening to see what others put on their plate, it gives me new ideas and lets me get to know you more personally.
Some people tell me, “you’ll never guess what WEIRD combination I had today for breakfast” well let me tell you I probably won’t guess and I don’t think its weird (unless of course it’s Taco Bell and Cheetos and then we most definitely need to meet).
So, please, keep snapping photos of your plates and share them with me, and the world. And to that point, stop calling it weird and start calling it food. If you have real food on your plate then own it. If you are enjoying a treat, let me see! If you have found a new interesting product, snap away! There are no rules as to what HAS to be on your plate. Have steak for breakfast and eggs for dinner, just keep it real and keep it nourishing.
