Well, I have been meaning to get my gift guide to you for the past month. Yes, the past month. With the cookbook launch it’s been kind of nutty over here, I guess better late than never, right? This year’s gift guide will be for all those in your life that like to or want to prioritize their health, food, and fitness this coming year.
If you want even more ideas, don’t forget all my Holiday Guides from 2018!
2019 Gift Guide
Okay, 2019 has been a wild ride friends. It has brought plenty of rants, but it has also brought many fun new (and old) items to my doorstep. Below are some of my favorite items in all different nutrition, food & fitness categories as well as one for the entrepreneur/blogger. Certainly you can use this as inspiration for someone in your life that needs some health motivation or maybe is on a health kick, but feel free to pass this along to others for inspiration on what you want/need this year 🙂
Food/Drinks
I love food (obviously) and think that it not only makes for great stocking stuffers, but also gifts. Food is the gift that you can actually use all of it right away. All of these food/drink options are amazing and won’t disappoint. I love to put them all in a gift basket with items that go along with it (like a coffee mug with the coffee) to really bring it to life.
This coffee is so smooth it’s unreal. They have both regular and decaf and you even get a discount when you use my code LLIGOS20. Enjoy!
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen my obsession with Safe + Fair granola. It’s so good on it’s own or used to top yogurt. It’s like Christmas in a cup!
I mean, if you know, you know. 88 Acres is my favorite nut/seed butter out there. It’s so flavorful AND packed with ingredients you can trust. Stuff stockings with these and people will be asking for more.
This honey is delicious. I had it at Expo and have been dreaming about it ever since. You can put it on pretty much anything including in mixed drinks. Stay tuned as I try out more recipes with it.
Well, it might not be food, but you need something to store your food in, am I right? I have been using these Stasher bags all year and I LOVE how they hold up, how you can wash them in the dishwasher and how you can use them in the fridge, in the pantry, in the freezer and even while traveling or hiking.
Cooking/Baking
While the food is amazing, you sometimes need things to help make said food. If you are going to grab my cookbook, some of these are very helpful in making some of the recipes.
These Nonstick Frying Pans are AMAZING. and not full of all that teflon that other non-sticks are made with. They are so easy to use and even better, easy to clean! Worth the investment.
If you need more reason to drink coffee, Nespresso is it. I’ve been holding out for some time on this because I was waiting for it to fade away. Jokes on me, it hasn’t faded away yet and seems to be continuing to be a staple in coffee lovers homes. Do yourself a favor and treat yo self.
I’m not sure this will ever leave my list. I LOVE my Instant Pot and should definitely be sponsored by now. It is so good at making chili, soups, and other amazing dishes. It is easy to use once you get over the fear and you can message me and I’ll help you out!
I love air frying. I’m not kidding when I say that I use my air fryer every week. You can quickly reheat something or make crispy vegetables. You can even make cookies, so there’s that…. I’ve linked the air fryer that I use currently, but I’m hoping to try out a bunch more this coming year, stay tuned.
I have a blender, but then I was sent this Kitchen Aid Blender to try out and I’m hooked. It is amazingly efficient and even easier and efficient to clean. It is a beautiful staple for any kitchen and works pretty dang well.
We drink a lot of seltzer water in our household so this has been a fun addition to the kitchen and limits the amount of cases of seltzer we buy monthly significantly. I love how fizzy you can make it too, which helps.
Books/Cookbooks
Let 2020 be the year of more cooking and more learning about yourself with some of my top picks below.
The Complete Clean Eating Cookbook by Laura Ligos
I shouldn’t have to tell you why you need this, but if you need a reason, it’s chalk full of 200 recipes created by yours truly. It has a ton of different types of food and I tried to keep the cooking/baking methods as easy and simple as possible. Buy it for yourself or buy it for everyone else on your list 🙂
Drinking for Two: Nutritious Mocktails for the Mom-To-Be by Diana Licalzi & Kerry Criss
I love this book by my friend Diana. It’s great for those that are pregnant or even their friends that want to know what to make their friend that can’t drink. No, I’n not pregnant but I love supporting my friend’s hard work and it really is an amazing resource and gift.
Half Baked Harvest Super Simple Cookbook by Tieghan Gerard
I love Half Baked Harvest and am so excited that she came out with a simpler cookbook. If you don’t follow @halfbakedharvest on Instagram, stop everything and go now. Her food photos are amazing and the recipes even more amazing. This cookbook is a must have.
This book is great for the coach as well as the client. It speaks to how we can build good habits and how to break bad habits. I listened to it as an audiobook and cannot wait to go back and listen again. So many tips and tricks to apply to your life no matter the habit.
I am obsessed with all things Brene Brown. This book is inspirational and motivational. It is an easy read and has so many thought provoking concepts.
Entertaining
Who doesn’t love a good cheeseboard? Now get your favorite party host a cheeseboard they can brag about and make a kick-butt cheeseboards for you and all of your friends. If you want to support local, check out Urban Industrial Design and get a custom made cheeseboard for your favorite host.
I have found that tea/kitchen towels are not something you buy for yourself, but you need them and love them. So find some funny towels for your friends/family and add it to that gift basket for them and make them laugh.
Board Games (like Scrawl)
Ever wonder what you are going to do with a gathering of friends? Game night is ALWAYS a good idea. I love Scrawl and end up in stitches every time I play this game. Get them this game or a host of others to make the night even more ridiculous than it was going to be.
Fitness
I don’t know about you but I love all things fitness. Here are my top gift options for those fitness enthusiasts in your life.
Joggers are the best. They are great for a work-from-home day or for coaching, or even for a light jog/walk/workout. I love how comfortable AND how fashionable they are. I love joggers from Lululemon and Four Athletics best.
Many people say they struggle to drink enough water. I’m with you on that front. However, I find that if I have the right water bottle (with a straw attachment of course) I’m far more successful with hydrating myself.
Kettlebells
I love kettlebells. These make a great gift because you can get an amazing workout with only 1 bell. The more the merrier of course. Snag someone a kettlebell and they’ll be able to get their workout in at home fairly easily with minimal space required.
I’ve talked about these bad boys before but I love my No Bull high tops. They are incredibly comfortable and in my opinion fashionable while still being laid back. They come out with new colors fairly often, so snag the ones you like while they’re available!
Self-Care
The term self-care may be overdone BUT the act of taking care of yourself can never be over done. You’ve and your friends/family have done a lot this year, give the gift of self-care so that you almost force it upon others 🙂
Who doesn’t love a nice bath. This bath product is great to relax you even more than normal because it is made with CBD. More on CBD in the new year but for now TREAT YO SELF.
Speaking of CBD. I love using Ned products especially during a hectic week. It helps me relax and get to bad even easier than normal. You can get a discount by using GGW (thanks to Joy & Claire from Girls Gone WOD Podcast)
Gift a Massage
Nothing says self-care like a nice massage. Everyone always loves a good massage but many forget to get one for themselves. Give your friends/family/partners the gift of self care this year.
If you’re local, here are a few of my favorites:
If you’re not local, check out local massage therapists in your area. Ask around as I’ve found the best ones are found via word of mouth!
I know this is woo-woo to many people but showing your gratitude has been shown to increase happiness and decrease stress. Grab a gratitude journal for those in your life that need some help with stress management.
I wasn’t a believer until I finally bit the bullet and got my first Stitch Fix box. I HATE shopping for clothes but still want to have professional and fashionable clothes to wear to events. Stitch fix has made this possible from the comfort of my own home. I love it and look forward to my quarterly boxes. You can certainly get them more frequently than that, it’s up to you!
Entrepreneurs/Bloggers
Ever wonder how some Instagrammers get the best photos? Some are lucky, some use filters, others are smart and use attachments like this one to get the best shop. It can make all the difference without the need for a fancy schmancy camera.
I LOVE a good backdrop for my food photography and while certainly you can use a cookie sheet, why not up the game a bit and get a beautiful back drop. Smaller but more affordable ones found on Amazon, here.
Everyone needs to be more organized, or maybe that’s just me. I used this planner in 2019 to help organize my social media content and more. If you’re local, give the gift of this Social Media Workshop which comes with an even more in depth planner.
These make the perfect stocking stuffer for the keyboard and phone warrior. For how much time they spend staring at a screen, do them the favor of reducing eye strain and bloc the blue light for them.
I can’t tell you how often my portable charger has saved me. For a small business owner, it’s never a good idea to go with an uncharged phone. So give the gift of this charger and save some business for your friends/family.
Okay, that was a lot, but that is it for this year’s Last Minute Holiday Gift Guide
Enjoy the craziness that is this holiday season. I would love to know what is on your last minute gift guide this year!
xoxo,
Sassy
