Ok, the holidays are here in FULL FORCE. We are 12 Days away from Christmas and it seems like everyone has just about lost their minds. Everyone has forgotten how to drive, the lines EVERYWHERE are out of control and the amount of sugar-filled treats filling offices, schools, houses, and grocery stores are absolutely RIDICULOUS.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the holidays. However, what I don’t love is how everyone forgets how to be a human and to adult as per usual every other month out of the year. People, it’s easy, just live your life, sing holiday songs at the top of your lungs and stop driving like you own the road, you don’t.
Holiday Humbug
Ok, I recognize it’s not that easy. I too get stressed out and overwhelmed this time of year. If you follow along on my Instagram stories you also know that I have a food kryptonite (
Good news. You don’t have to wait until January 1st for your nutrition to start or start over or to re-start. Instead, try incorporating all you’ve learned this year little by little so that you enjoy the holidays without regretting every decision you ever made.
For me? I’m going to eat intuitively when I
I know it’s not simple, but we don’t have to make it so

Sassy’s 12 Days of Nutrition
What better way to celebrate the last 12 Days before Christmas than with a list of all the cool things I’ve talked about this year?! A nice little reminder if you forgot or if you need a refresher on how to tackle all things nutrition, Sassy-style!
1: Stay on Track-ish
Pro Tip: it’s not about being perfect, it’s about prioritizing your health.
2: Drink Water.
Pro Tip: They say save water drink beer, but this time of year I’d highly recommend you drink water between every beer.
3: Stop & Read This Before Going Keto
Pro Tip: It’s not for everyone.
4: Travel Like a Pro
Pro Tip: You can eat healthy while traveling, shocking, I know.
5: SET UP A CONSULT WITH A DIETITIAN
Pro Tip: RDs can help you for many reasons, don’t be scared, we’re not the food police.
6: Eat more than 1,200 calories.
Pro Tip: you need that much just to be alive. If someone recommends otherwise, seek help elsewhre.
7: Throw Away the Scale.
Pro Tip: that scale isn’t buying you any presents this year, step away from the scale and go live your life.
8: Remember that diets are nouns and don’t start on Mondays ๐
Pro Tip: what you’re eating is a diet, you don’t need to go on one.
9: Stop Asking Permission.
Pro Tip: You don’t need to ask permission to eat a food. You do need to think about why you’re asking permission.
10: Track or Maybe Don’t Track Your Food
Pro Tip: It works for some, not for others, and works for others some of the time.
11: Find Balance.
Pro Tip: Balance doesn’t mean that things are perfectly even, it means that you are not worrying about everything being perfect ๐
12: Listen to a Podcast (Girls Gone WOD, Real Food with Dana, Fit Women’s Weekly )
Pro Tip: Download these and listen to them on your car rides, flight layovers, holiday morning runs, and definitely family gatherings.
Bonus points awarded if you tried to sing any of that ๐
