Friday Favorites: Girls Gone WOD Podcast

You may or may not know this about me, but I love to educate and I also love to public speak. For some reason, I don’t really get all that nervous even though I know it’s most people’s worst nightmare. Don’t get me wrong, there are other things that scare/intimidate me and give me nightmares but speaking in front of groups whether via a podcast or in person just doesn’t worry me.

I’ve always enjoyed educating and empowering others. I mostly enjoy taking a complex subject, such as nutrition and breaking it down for others in an easy to digest format (pun ALWAYS intended). It’s fun for me to see the wheels turning and also impart some of my knowledge onto others.

While I love to do this, I sometimes worry that it’s not effective or that others don’t want to hear it from me. So I normally get my public speaking out weekly by coaching CrossFit classes. However, I want to be able to spread more nutrition knowledge and think that it’s time I start speaking up to larger groups.

Girls Gone WOD Podcast

In walks Girls Gone WOD Podcast. I met Joy and Claire while working for InsideTracker a few years back. I instantly felt a connection with the ladies because they were real, witty, smart, dynamic, and sassy AF. They make me laugh once a week on my walk with Bode and I’ve even heard them mention my name a few times when nutrition topics come up! Just feeling like a celeb over here.

So, they invited me back on the show and I felt right at home, educating the public on health topics and hopefully empowering people to make positive changes to their health. It reminded me that I have a voice and hope that my voice can help many achieve their health or at least realize they have a part to play in their own health.

Topics covered

In case you aren’t convinced you need to listen to this (you should) here are some of the topics we covered:

  • Macros
  • Relationship with Food
  • Giving yourself permission to eat food
  • Body image/fat-shaming
  • Judgment Free Zone
  • Fad Diets
  • Why you cannot macro harder
  • …and more! You’ll just have to listen 🙂

Debunking Diet Myths & Beyond

My goal in this space of the internet is to debunk a lot of diet myths, break it down so you can understand it and use it practically. I also want to be able to give you easy (delicious) healthy recipes on the regular.

As you all know I am currently in the midst of my 100 Day Challenge (this is day 12/100). These past 12 days have shown me that I LOVE to educate, create content, and share with you simple ways to improve your health. Doing this podcast has also reminded me that I love to talk (ha! bet most of you already knew that). So while I’m not going to try and overcommit I am thinking of restarting a podcast, calling it something like “Sassy Says” and see where it can take this brand and my message.

Alright, on to the weekend, cheers to you for following along I really do appreciate you all.

What is something you LOVE to do and are good at?! I want to know!

xoxo,

Sassy
