While Christmas is all about the presence, it is nice when others get you something special. I’m more of a presence gal myself but when I get some useful & thoughtful presents I feel all kinds of lucky. So today I wanted to share with you my favorites and maybe you can get some inspiration for yourself or other foodies/health nuts in your life.
It’s funny to see what others get you because it usually speaks volumes to who you are and what you like. If you could sum me up in a few presents I’d be coffee, chocolate, wine, & all things food/fitness related. All shocking, I know. However, this year was a good year and I feel so lucky to have gotten to spend time with family and friends and am now happy to be home and back to a normal-ish schedule.
Let’s see what some of my favorite gifts were this year!
Friday Favorites: Christmas Gifts
Here are a few of my favorites in no particular order 🙂
Avocado Towels

I spend most of my time in the kitchen so it better be filled with things that make me smile. Food memes, puns, & quotes make me smile. This was an adorable gift that I can’t wait to hang proudly in my kitchen.
The Sassy Dietitian Stationary

I love lists & I have (grown) to love my nickname. How adorable is this stationary? It’s from Paper Source. It can be so hard to put yourself out there especially to friends and family because they are so close to you & you don’t know if they will support you or not. Well, i’d say my friends support the crap out of me, and I’m a lucky gal.
Bacon & Egg Themed Items

My sister in law (and brother) got these for me and they are adorable. It’s no secret that I love bacon & eggs, but now I can wear it proud (with pajama pants) and drink/eat from bacon & egg themed items.
Custom Nike Metcons

I LIVE in my current Nike Metcons so it’s about time I replaced my current pair that is literally falling apart at the seams. I was super excited to open these because they are custom Nike Metcons that are army green AND they have Sassy labeled on the back! Dang, I guess my name is sticking 🙂
Soap Opera Holder

This one got me good. I smile every time I wash my dishes now, mission accomplished AND it gives me a place for my sponge since it ALWAYS seems to go missing in my tiny kitchen, go figure.
Stainless Steel Soap

If you chop garlic & onions often, you NEED this. I’ve always heard that when you cook with garlic & onions you should rub your hands on stainless steel so that you can get rid of the smell, but now I have a “soap bar” to rid my hands of the smell. HECK YEAH!!!!
Oven Mitt

Haha this one made me chuckle AND will be true this year, so watch out!
Coffee Mugs

I never thought I’d be one to collect anything BUT if I had to collect one thing it’d be coffee mugs. Why? Because I LOVE coffee AND I love having good coffee mugs around. These two were pretty great.
New Knife ?

It’s about TIME I had a nice knife. I’ve been using old dull knives for far too long and I finally got upgraded. It’s amazing how good a new SHARPENED knife can feel. If you’re in the Albany area, check out The Cooking Resource (Different Drummer Kitchen) in Stuyvesant Plaza for your knife needs.
Books

I don’t read enough. It’s hard for me to sit still so I often make excuses as to why I don’t read. Well, this year I’ve got some reading to do (see the stack above) and I will share with you the books I do end up reading! Keep me accountable!!
Phew! What a great haul. I also got a bunch of cookbooks that I’m going to dig into as well so stay tuned for some inspiration.
If you celebrated the holiday, what was your favorite gift to give or receive this year?!
xoxo,
Sassy
