‘Tis the season for coffee, am I right? Just kidding, it’s always the season for coffee. And this time I have a homemade Egg Nog Latte for you to make your sipping experience festive & delicious. I wanted to give you a new and #sassyapproved way to enjoy egg nog and your coffee this year, and in walks this Egg Nog Latte.

I’ve been stalking the Starbucks app weekly to see when new coffee drinks drop. I have been trying to go and make some modifications but this time I decided to try their Egg Nog Latte in an at home version, like I did with the pumpkin cream cold brew. The tall egg nog latte had 45 grams or so of sugar and I wasn’t about to experience that sugar high (and crash) so why not do my own thang?!

Enter this homemade Egg Nog Latte, Sassy Style.

Egg Nog

Ok, back up…what is egg nog?

It is a milk, cream, sugar & egg mixture usually shared around the holidays. Some have called it “milk punch” which doesn’t sound all that great so egg nog will remain its name. Unless of course you want to deter people from drinking your Egg Nog Latte, then call it milk punch all you want.

You can certainly make egg nog yourself or you can do what I did and buy yourself some, no judgement here.

My favorite? Organic Valley’s Egg Nog. It is so rich and creamy and leaves you wanting more. I had my first taste of it this summer when I was visiting Organic Valley’s HQ and I was left waiting for winter so I could get my hands on some of my own.

Need a dairy free option? There are a few options including:

Trader Joe’s Almond Nog

So Delicious Coconut Milk Holiday Nog

Homemade Coconut Milk Egg Nog

Feel free to combo the dairy-free egg nog with dairy-free milk of choice to make this egg nog latte dairy-free. You don’t want to miss out and I sure don’t want you to miss out either.

Ok so, now that we’ve got the egg nog taken care of, it’s time to get to the Egg Nog Latte show on the road. This latte is far lower in sugar but not low in flavor. You’ll be making this throughout the winter and maybe you’ll even share it with your friends & family. Hey, it might even make a tasty cold brew if you prefer to leave it all cold (you just froth the milk cold and let the coffee cool.

You don’t have to have an espresso maker to make this Egg Nog Latte. Just use a strong coffee of choice and you won’t even notice the difference. Certainly If you have an espresso maker at home you can make it with 2 shots of espresso, but no big deal either way!

Want to make this an adult beverage? Throw in some Bailey’s Irish Cream or Kahlua and enjoy responsibly.

Pro Tip: So you don’t have a frother? That’s no excuse, there are many ways to froth you’re milk, check out The Pioneer Woman’s 8 Ways to Froth Milk!
