I cannot believe it’s already the end of November, where has the year gone?!? I know the holidays were weird last year, well at least they were for us so I’m hoping that they are a little more normal for us all this year as I think we could all use it. Anywho, it’s that time of year again when we get to shop for our special ones in our lives and we need some ideas. This year’s 2021 Holiday Gift Guide includes many options that I, myself love or recommend often. Many of these gifts would be great for anyone on your list but I figured since I’m living the new mom life I’d share what I’ve loved and Connor has as well.
I love food. I love to make people food. I love to help people learn how to love food. That being said I wanted to incorporate some of my favorite items that help to make food fun and/or make making food easier.
Air Fryer. If you don’t have an air fryer do you even live in 2021? An air fryer is an easy way to make food crispy and tasty. It’s so easy to use and even a great way to make a quick meal without turning on your oven.
Butcher Box. I love these boxes of frozen meat (sounds weird, I know) but could be just the gift that people can ACTUALLY use. Fill up their freezer for them with a box that they can use for meals for weeks. You can choose a box that’s pre-selected or make a custom box.
Sassy’s Old or New Cookbook. That’s right I now have TWO cookbooks. The first has 200 recipes that are easy to make and tasty. The second doesn’t come out until January 2022 but it’s a meal planner with NEW recipes and a how-to meal plan guide + a meal planning pad with a grocery list that you can rip off and take with you.
Instant Pot. If you’ve been here a while you probably already have an Instant Pot. I LOVE mine and have had it for years and just think everyone could benefit from having one. It makes meal prep so easy and once you learn how to use it you will understand how amazing it is.
Nespresso Machine. I love coffee in all forms but the Nespresso makes such a great espresso that is cheaper than getting a Starbucks daily. There are so many flavors AND the frother is amazing and makes for some great lattes.
Made-In Nonstick Pans. Everyone always asks what my favorite pans are and Made-In is hands down my favorite. The quality is amazing and no teflon is used 🙂 They also have amazing knives and other kitchen tools.
Nutr Machine. This is for the person addicted to their plant-based milks. The cold cycle makes milk in 3 minutes and is amazing! I love it and use it all the time to make oat milk at the drop of a hat, saves money over time and waste. Use my code THESASSYDIETITIAN10_OFF for a discount.
Silicone Cooking/Baking Tools. Some ideas include baking mats, baking cups, or silicone spatula set. These are all so versatile and also can be helpful in reducing waste in the kitchen.
Stasher Bags. I am obsessed with my stasher bags. I have a few other brands and none have held up the way these have. They have all different sizes and colors and they store great in the pantry, fridge or freezer.
Virtual Charcuterie Board Class. Want something a bit more interactive? Everyone loves a charcuterie board, why not get someone special a class on how to make one and make a date out of it! Maybe even get them a cheese board platter while you’re at it.
Foot spa. For that person that is always on the go and needs some R&R this holiday season. Buy them some Epsom salt too so they can throw some in there to help relax and replete their minerals while they’re at it.
Fre Skincare. I have loved this skincare line and it’s great for those who are active and who may sweat a lot. It’s also great for the person who doesn’t have a tone of time to spend on their skincare routine. This literally takes me 5 minutes a day. I love the 123Fre Set for the beginner, The Mighty Nine for the next level skincare master (I used to use the 123Fre set and have graduated to the Mighty Nine + I AM Set) AND have been loving the I AM Set to use in and after the shower. Use my code SASSYRD for a discount.
Hydrojug. Hydration is so important for us all but it can be so hard to drink enough or remember to drink enough. I love my Hydrojug because it is a 73 oz water bottle with a straw that is easy to drink out of. There are now glass and stainless steel options as well. Use my code SASSY10 for a discount.
Legion Protein Powder. Protein powder is so helpful for those that struggle with getting enough protein in their diets. I have tried many brands and this is one of my favorite ones. I love the Chocolate Peanut Butter but there are so many awesome flavors in both Whey and Plant. Use code SASSY for a discount.
Liquid IV. Speaking of hydration, sometimes we need some extra help to get water into our cells. Liquid IV has electrolytes and carbs to help you do just that! I personally love the watermelon & strawberry the best. Use my code SASSYDIETITIAN for a discount. These would make for a great stocking stuffer.
Lululemon Align Leggings. I live in these leggings. I know they are pricey but they are worth it. I also wore these leggings throughout my entire pregnancy and postpartum. These are so worth it in my opinion!
Monthly Home-Gym Programming. Need something new for the new year (or even holiday season?). This program is for you! There is a barbell and dumbbell version and the workouts are easy to fit into your busy day and can be done from home or even on the road. It’s my friend Megan’s program and is basically for the recovering Crossfitter like me 🙂
Portable TENS Unit. Know that person that’s always complaining about that knot in their back? This is the perfect gift to help them continue to complain about it but with a little TLC instead.
Air Pods. Love my air pods either for walks, hand-free phone calls or listening to Instagram while holding a sleeping baby. You suddenly always have something in your hands as a new parent and having these headphones has been amazing.
Cozy Robe. You spend a lot more time in your home when you have a new baby, why not be comfy? It’s also great for when you think you have time to shower and then baby is screaming for you and you need to go run and get them…not that I’m experienced or anything…
Cozy PJ’s. See above for the robe. I love pj’s and sometimes spend the day in them (especially early postpartum). I love that these are so soft and easy access for nursing. Use my code SASSYDIETITIAN45 for 45% Off.
Ember Coffee Mug. I was skeptical but a friend gifted this to me postpartum and I love it! It’s so amazing on cold days when baby is home because it takes hours to drink a cup of coffee and it’s nice to have a warm cup waiting for you for all those random sips.
Family Calendar. We love to make a calendar and use pictures from the previous year and this year it will be so much fun to look back at pictures of Connor and new parents or even grandparents would love this too I’m sure of it. You can also put all different holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries in there.
Hydrojug . See above for why this is my favorite water bottle but this is also amazing for the new parent. It’s easy to drink with 1 hand and your hydration needs are heightened in pregnancy and while breastfeeding so you need it.
Initial Necklace. Who doesn’t want a reason to constantly think about or talk about their kiddos? This would be a cute gift for them to have a way to showcase their babies initials and keep them close to them at all times.
Kindle. I used to be all for regular books, and then I had a baby. Nursing a baby in the middle of the night (or whenever really) can become a lot of sitting and instead of scrolling social media what if we instead read a few books? They already have a kindle? A gift card works too.
Skylight Frame. We end up looking at pictures of Connor every night and this is such a cool idea to have photos constantly updating and cycling for you or for grandparents, family, etc.
Slippers. Have I mentioned the new parent spends A LOT of time at home? Slippers are a must and I have worn down a pair in a year and it’s time for a new pair.
Trade Coffee Subscription. I LOVE coffee as do many parents. This subscription is amazing because you get to try new coffee every few weeks and can tailor it to your taste. Buy a gift card and they can pick out what they want.
Look I now share a lot about my kid so I figured it’d be helpful for you to know what we have loved & used as well as what we are looking to get and use for Connor! I will share more once he gets older but for this year here are some ideas for 0-12 month olds.
Contrast Cards. Great for them to stare at.
Mirror. We used to call the boy in the mirror “Mirror Connor” and Connor used to giggle at him and it was just the best.
Otteroo. This blow up neck ring is AMAZING. Seriously Connor had so much time at bath time and we were so sad when he out grew it.
Ball Toy. This was one of the first toys Connor actually played with and STILL plays with. We love a toy that is used for longer than a day.
Bear suit. Connor lived in this during the cold months and we loved it as it made it easy to get out the door even when it was cold out.
Books. We are obsessed with books so I made a whole Amazon list with some of our favorites. Books are always a great idea mostly so the parents don’t get bored.
Activity Center. We loved this with Connor and probably started using around 5 months when he had better head control. It also grows with them which is great and is nice if you have to use the bathroom for 5 seconds.
EzPz Silicone Food Items. We love the mat, spoons, and tiny cup. They make for an easy clean up but also help the little ones learn how to eat.
Bib. We have loved the silicone bibs but many have said that they are too bulky for their littles ones so these are great too. We like the silicone ones because Connor drops a lot of his food and so it catches it and he can pick it back up easier.
Climb & Crawl Foam Activity Set. Kids love climbing over everything so why not give them a fun (and safe) way to do it? We’ve also heard great things about the Nugget which we may get for his 1st birthday.
Stacking Cups. Hands down the best toy both because they love it so much and it’s so easy to travel with.
Sit to Stand Walker. Once Connor was sitting he became OBSESSED with this toy and now we are using it to help him stand and even take a few steps.
Pickler Triangle/ Play Gym. A few of our friends have something similar and the kids LOVE it.
Busy Board. JJ is currently making Connor one but how cute are these?
Suction Cup Toys. We use these in the tub, on the stroller and anywhere they will stick and Connor loves them.
Books. We are obsessed with books so I made a whole Amazon list with some of our favorites. Books are always a great idea mostly so the parents don’t get bored.
Water bottle. As the baby starts getting more used to solids and starts introducing more water will be great practice for when they need more water after 1 year of age. Here’s 1 that we like and another which would make for great gift idea.
Silicone Bento Box. This brand is adorable they have so many silicone products and they are high quality and oh so cute. We have a bib, place mat, snack holder and bento box from them and absolutely love them all.
Alright, that was A LOT but hopefully it gives you ideas for yourself or for that special someone this holiday season.
