Happy Post- Thanksgiving Monday, friends. Man, no matter how much you try to prepare for it, coming back from a Holiday is never easy. You get used to spending the day with people you love, relaxing, vegging on the couch, sleeping in, and possibly over-indulging in the food & drink department.
So, while I would love to wallow with you, let’s talk about how we can spring right back to it. Afterall, we still have a month until Christmas and if we give up now, we’ll have regrets later, I’m sure of it.
Getting Back on Track
No more Monday blues. Instead, think about ways you can help yourself get back into the swing of things, without sabotaging yourself. Afterall, we are all really good at that.
- Make your fitness a priority.
This does not mean you need to slave away at 10 hours on a cardio machine because you ate a piece (or 10) of pie. This is NOT meant as punishment. Instead, prioritizing fitness and movement is setting the precedence for how you want to live your life. Get moving daily and set the tone for your holiday season. Don’t punish yourself, instead reward your body with movement, whatever that looks like for you.
- Plan, plan ahead. Especially your food.
There will be a lot and I mean A LOT of temptations this time of year. A lot of dinners out, parties at work and at night, treats, cookies, take-out, WINE, etc.. You name it, it will be there. But, you do not need to admit defeat so soon. Instead, plan ahead, meal prep and ensure there are healthy options all around you this holiday season. I speant last night meal prepping for the week so that those christmas cookies don’t tempt me.
- Enjoy the little things.
For me, that’s the Christmas decorations at home, walks with my dog (even when it’s freezing out), and homemade food. Whatever it is for you,
takeMAKE the time this holiday season. It will make the chaos of it all worth it.
